The initial panic buying was only for hygiene products, especially hand sanitisers, but retailers say it has trickled down to food after most offices allowed employees to WFH. "Sales of categories such as noodles, biscuits, rice, wheat oils, sanitisers, floor & glass cleaners & hygiene products have surged upwards of 20%," Nature’s Basket MD said.
